I didn't step foot in a store all week because it was just TOO COLD to drag the kids out with me, and I prefer to shop alone when dear Husband can watch the kiddos! So, today I stopped at Walgreens, CVS, and Kroger to get the good deals I told you about this week.
Here is what happened:
Walgreens:
Turns out the
Huggies Wipes aren't on sale here in Michigan (this happens a lot!), they were out of the B1G1
free razors (this happens a lot too), and there was only one Pert Plus for Men left! So, I got a raincheck for the razors and didn't buy any wipes. I asked if there was any Pert Plus for Men in the back and there was not. So, this spoiled my plan because you had to buy 2 in order to get $2 in Register Rewards, making them free. I spoke to a manager and asked if I could substitute another Pert Plus (my Walgreens will often do this), but instead he told me he'd give me $1 off 1 (basically what I would have gotten after the Register Reward). So I was able to buy 1 for $0.09 after the $1.50/1 coupon. I have my coupons and raincheck for the razors, so I'll check back next week and get a few for free.
Always get a raincheck!
Kroger:
Lots of great deals- the El Paso deal I told you about
here, the
"buy 10 participating items, get $5 off" promo, and other coupons. My total before coupons was about $88 and I spent $48 but got a $3 ONYO (on your next order) catalina coupon. I didn't have time to take a picture of these groceries, but it was a car full amount!
CVS:
I just LOVE CVS! I did the "
buy $20 in Pepsico/Frito Lay products, get $10 in ECB" promo, used a $5/$30 CVS coupon, used $3 in ECB's I had, spent $6 out of pocket and got back another $10 in ECB, so basically I got all of this for free, plus made $4! I did have two coupons for free Stacy's Pita chips from a Facebook deal a little while back, so that helped. But it still would have been just about free without those two coupons!
That's the beauty of couponing and generating a stockpile. I can stay out of the stores most weeks if I want to, but usually I just go and get the things that are free or cheap to add to my stockpile. Ever since I began seriously couponing last year, I am able to go "shopping downstairs" on my storage shelves and extra freezer in the basement! We have more food in the house than we've ever had before, we are giving more food away to people and charities, and we are spending less on the food we buy!

My Shopping Today- 3 stores in about 2 hours.
