We are very fortunate to live just 2 minutes from an IKEA. Even if you have a farther drive though, remember this is a great way to have a cheap "something to do" on a weekend. The kids can play for an hour in the fun and clean Small World kids center and you can enjoy some time window shopping with your spouse (make sure you don't get carried away with their awesome prices and buy things you don't need!) and then all eat dinner at the cafe for a great deal! We always love to pick up a $1 frozen yogurt on our way out too!

You know you're frugal when...
...the first thing you want to do after getting home from vacation is open your mail! You just KNOW that there are lots of great coupons, freebies, rebates, etc. waiting for you to open.
I usually force myself to start the laundry, unpack everything (I'm very anal this way, but I have never in my life left a packed bag that needed to be unpacked until the next morning-- I think I'd lose sleep if I did), tidy up the house, and check phone messages before I allow myself to open up the big pile of mail!
We were away for a week at my parent's cottage and had the mail stopped, so when I got home tonight, here are the goodies that were awaiting me:
