Today was a pretty typical Saturday for me, but when I sit back and think about it, it involved a lot of frugality and couponing! Are my days similar to your days? I'd love to hear your stories!
Here is how my day was FRUGAL!
9 am: called Coffeemate to ask about the shelf life of their creamer when we realized that some creamer never made it out of the grocery bags into the freezer. Even though the two creamers that were left unrefrigerated were
free after coupons, I still hated to throw them out! Learned that they are still okay to use; only needs to be refrigerated after opening! Nice Customer Service rep is sending me some free coupons to thank me for my loyalty to Coffeemate!
12 noon: Hubby and I shared a free-after-coupon frozen pizza for lunch and the kiddos had some free lunchables.
2 pm: Went to Bath & Body Works to get my free pocketbac hand sanitizer.
2:10 pm: Went next door to Old Navy to exchange a tank top and pick up some $2 camis. Saw a few things that I had purchased on my last trip there were now at a lower price. Asked for a price adjustment on my receipt from last trip and got $10 back on my credit card!
2:20 pm: Did some clearance shopping at Kohl's with coupons and got some clothes for the girls for next summer.
6 pm: Went to dinner with friends at Champp's restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could combine their $10 off $25 Facebook coupon with the $15 off $25 Mother's Day rewards card I have. So, my family of 4 ate
very well (appetizers, beverages, kids meals, entrees) and our $50 bill turned out to be just $23!
Frugality is just a part of our lifestyle, and I don't feel we've given anything up or are missing out on anything by living this way. We are able to go out to eat on occasion, take nice vacations, go shopping, purchase gifts for friends and family, etc.-- we just do it with coupons or by really looking into the "best deals". Pinching our pennies hasn't hindered us from enjoying what life has to offer,
and we've been able to give more generously to those in need because we have to much to give!
I just can't imagine living any other way...

Frugality is just part of my life...
