Roll-A-Turkey Preschool Game (plus a use for Halloween candy)!

This post was really popular in the past, so I'm reposting it in case you want to plan to use some of your Halloween candy to do this!

Here is a fun and easy way to practice math skills and get rid of some Halloween candy!

You will need:
  1. M&M's candy (3 each of blue, red, yellow, orange, and green. It took me opening up 4 snack size bags to get the right number of reds! That is a lesson all in itself of probability!)
  2. 1 round Cookie
  3. 1 Tootsie Roll candy cut in half for feet
  4. 2 Smarties (or other small candy) with a drop of Hershey's chocolate in the middle for eyes
  5. piece of Laffy Taffy cut into a triangle for the nose
  6. Dice
  7. game board (picture)

To play:

Roll the dice and add up your total numbers
Look on the game board to see what color M&M you need to add to your Turkey's feathers
If you roll a double you get to eat one (as well as add a feather)

This is great practice for preschoolers at identifying numbers and colors on the game board and adding two numbers together! Plus, they are willing to play until the game is over because they know they'll get to eat their Turkey when done!
