Congrats to the random winner: Maureen!
When your kids get excited about holidays and special events, what is it that excites them the most? I would bet that even though most kids really love getting presents, its the FAMILY TRADITIONS that they really look forward to the most.
When we talk about Christmas approaching, it's really not the presents that my kids want to talk about. They instead reminisce about making a birthday cake for Jesus, decorating the tree, driving around to look at Christmas lights, shopping for each other, or reading Christmas books (like our yearly Christmas Book Advent activity).
I am so excited to introduce my kids to this new Christmas Tradition! I received a copy of Countdown to Christmas: 24 Days of the Jesse Tree Tradition to share with my family. This book helps families and children get very excited about the celebration of Christ's birth. Countdown to Christmas: 24 Days of the Jesse Tree Tradition allows your family to take time to know the people in the Bible and to see their connection to Jesus.
To begin this tradition, you'll just need to set up a small 2' - 3' high tree in your home and then read one story every night in the days before Christmas. After each story, hang an ornament to remember the biblical figures, starting with Adam and Eve and ending with Jesus!
What we really love about this book is that it was written by an eleven-year old! How inspiring!
You can order the book Countdown to Christmas: 24 Days of the Jesse Tree Tradition on Amazon for $14.99.
I received a copy to review and was also asked to give a copy away to a Savvy Spending Reader!
