Book Review: Pitchin' A Fit!: Overcoming Angry and Stressed-Out Parenting

I was recently asked to review a parenting book called Pitchin' A Fit!: Overcoming Angry and Stressed-Out Parenting by well known speakers and authors, Israel and Brook Wayne. I first met Israel last year at the INCH Homeschooling conference and my husband and I were both captivated by the talks he gave. We purchased a few of his books and went on to listen to some of his talks online, and even shared them with friends.

Israel Wayne is the Director of Family Renewal, LLC and is the Site Editor for ChristianWorldview.net (a Christian apologetics site). He is the author of Homeschooling from a Biblical Worldview, Full-Time Parenting: A Guide to Family-Based Discipleship, Questions God Asks and Questions Jesus Asks. He and his wife are homeschooling their nine (now ten?) children in Michigan.

This book is such a great resource for parents-- because as much as we don't want to admit it, all of us have to deal with anger to some degree in our lives. Parenting is hard, stressful, demanding, and sometimes exhausting, and we, as sinful humans, will ultimately react in anger to our children at some point. We love them unconditionally and sincerely want to show them that love, but we all fail at times.

This book is written candidly, as the authors share their own experiences with anger, but also with hope as it provides practical and biblical solutions to stop yourself from angry parenting.

If you're struggling with angry parenting- even in just small ways- I encourage you try this book. It's available at Amazon here: Pitchin' A Fit!: Overcoming Angry and Stressed-Out Parenting for only $11.69.

You can listen to an interview with the authors here.
